Time Lin's "Mosquito Attack" series reflects the collective anxiety of Taiwanese people today. This installation, combining oil painting, narration, and mosquito sound effects, explores the artist Time Lin's personal experiences with mosquito bites and floaters, reflecting the collective anxiety of Taiwanese society. In the work, the oracle bone script character "文" symbolizes the origins of human civilization, while the character "蚊" stands as a warning against current violence and insecurity, metaphorically referring to the persistent harassment by cross-strait military aircraft. With age, the intrusive presence of mosquitoes and the constant noise in one's ears prompt a profound reflection on reality, revealing the impact of external threats on the individual psyche. This work encourages viewers to reflect on their daily lives and seek possibilities for peace, highlighting the profound connection between culture and security issues.
