Time Lin Wrinkled Calligraphy
-

Time Lin's unique wrinkled calligraphy originates from the interaction of Yin and Yang, referring to the interaction between ink and paper. When ink is on uneven Xuan paper, it offers more depth and space for expression than on flat paper, like clouds descending upon mountains, creating more undulating contact surfaces. Besides producing varying shades of ink washes and flying white strokes, it also allows for free-flowing highlights, resulting in a rich sense of layering.
-
Time Lin's wrinkled calligraphy breaks through the existing framework of calligraphy, employing semi-automatic techniques that combine elements of automation and conscious control, allowing for free and creative expression without relying entirely on the subconscious. Guided by the concept of wrinkled calligraphy, it does not restrict the creative expression of its form. The writing process has a high failure rate, but it can bring unexpected surprises.

During the 2021 pandemic, Time Lin used art to fight the virus daily, writing the most Taiwanese wrinkled calligraphy and stamping the most Taiwanese seals to encourage Taiwanese people. In this continuous act of benefiting others, it broke the millennia-old purpose of calligraphy serving only the Mandarin language.
